The NETBASE System

NETBASE is the leading water management and applications system for water networks. All of the information and all of the software applications required for analysing and reporting on networks are contained in one system.

The system comprises a suite of modules which are custom built to suit client requirements. The modules are clearly identifiable in the user interface. The interface is able to be tailored to different business processes within the client’s user community.

The database (Oracle) and applications can store and organise very large volumes of data from Client water company systems. The advanced data manager in NETBASE controls the links to client systems and the scheduling and transforming of the data into network information on the database. NETBASE has a built-in GIS for spatial analysis and for mapping of the network information in the database.

The system supports many users connected concurrently for viewing and analysing of the database, drawing upon the same consistent network information.

The Role of the System

The application modules will enable NETBASE to fulfil various roles for a client water company:

• View and analyse corporate data in the form of network information as Areas, Assets, Customers and Events, in the hierarchal structure of the network.
  
• Graphical display and analysis of time series flow, pressure and level data, read from various proprietary formats of source data.
  
• Building and maintaining hydraulic models with spatial tools for viewing and analysing model analysis results.
  
• Leakage and pressure management with night use estimation, bottom up and top down history and regulatory table 10 reporting.
  
• Maintain levels of service register and carry out tracking and regulatory reporting.
  
• Recording and viewing the status of events occurring in the network.
  
• Historical analysis and reporting on Area / Zonal and service level performance in the network.
  
• Modelling tools for capital maintenance planning of infrastructure assets for Periodic Reviews and ‘business as usual’.
  
• Administration of Abstraction licences and Resource ledgers for EA reporting.
  
• Develop ELL and economic targeting strategies, prioritise and plan detection and integrity campaigns.
