Core Application and Config Tool

Network Information

The basic (non – spatial) form of network information in the database is the hierarchal structure of the network

When the database is loaded from corporate data sources, the network information becomes an integrated (spatial) data set used by all of the Applications. In essence, this is an asset database, containing:

  • The customers, their types, night use, consumptions and status
  • Records for al types of infrastructure assets
  • Records for all types of non-infrastructure assets
  • Records of events in the network

In its most basic form, Network information provides the hierarchical structure to the database.

The information is organised and viewed through the hierarchal structure of the network from company level to water resource zones, system zones, DMAs, meters and assets.

The views and analysis of the integrated data, loaded from corporate data sources, include:

  • Customers to Areas and to Assets
  • Assets to Areas
  • Assets to Assets
  • Events to Areas and to Assets

The area details are an important feature of Network Information. These are records for every area at each level of the hierarchy.

They can be loaded manually or automatically updated monthly by corporate data and analysis

Config Tool

  • The Config tool is used to enter or complete the hierarchical relationships of areas, assets and customers.
  • It is used to flag assets as monitored sites, linked to their signals and data files.
  • It will be used for maintaining an Area Change register and meter assignments history
