The Pump Centre Conference is an annual conference held in the Telford International Centre. This years event was held on the 12th May with the main technical theme centering around ‘Pump Innovation – Challenging the Norm’. The conference provided an ideal setting for Crowder Consulting engineers to find out about the latest technologies and share ideas with other water industry professionals. Covering a variety of issues, the sessions covered the development of an intelligent pump controller, generating surplus power from waste water treatment and the sustainability of pump systems.
Consulting Engineer Raasheed Pakwashi attended the event to revise pump theory and improve his awareness of pump technology. “The most useful parts of the conference for me were the back to basics training session and the breakout session, especially regarding advanced control. The conference was interesting and I’ll be able to take what I’ve learnt and apply the understanding when reviewing and calibrating hydraulic models.”
